My Approach

Compassionate. Evidence-based. Collaborative.

My approach is eclectic and responsive to the person in front of me. I draw from different therapeutic modalities to meet you where you are and remain attuned to what you need most. I believe therapy should be collaborative, with your experiences and goals helping to guide our work together, while I gently support you in exploring the areas where growth and change may be possible.

As a trauma-focused psychologist, I approach therapy through a trauma-informed lens, remaining mindful of how past experiences can shape the ways we think, feel, relate to others, and experience the world around us.

Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all

There is no single approach that works for everyone.

I draw from different evidence-based approaches and adapt them to the person sitting in front of me.

Together, we consider what you're experiencing, what you want to change, and what approaches may be most helpful. My goal is to create therapy that fels meaningful, practical, and responsive to you.

Some of the therapeutic approaches I frequently use:

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing)

  • CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) - including trauma-focused approaches

  • DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy)

  • ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy)

  • IFS (Internal Family Systems) + Parts Work

  • Attachment-based therapy

  • Emotion Focused Therapy

  • Somatic approaches

  • Polyvagal Theory

  • Narrative Therapy

  • Gottman method

Trauma-Informed Care

Whether or not you are coming to therapy specifically for trauma, your experiences matter.

I take a trauma-informed approach that emphasizes comfort, choice, collaboration and understanding.

We don't have to rush into talking about difficult experiences. Therapy moves at a pace that feels manageable, while creating space to understand patterns, build coping skills and develop a stronger sense of self.

Culturally Responsive Care

Your culture, identity, values & lived experiences are an important part of who you are.

As a Latin American psychologist, I understand the importance of feeling seen & understood within the cultural context that shapes you & your story. I strive to approach each person with cultural humility, curiosity, and respect - including creating space for those who bring their own cultural traditions, values, and ways of understanding into therapy, if and when they choose.

You never have to leave important parts of yourself at the door.
