Personality Disorder Therapy
Edmonton

The ways we experience ourselves, relate to others, and respond to the world can become deeply rooted over time. For some people, longstanding patterns in emotions, relationships, self-image, or coping can create challenges that feel difficult to change.

Therapy isn’t about labelling or getting a diagnosis. While a diagnosis can sometimes provide helpful language and understanding, you are always more than a label.

Sometimes, people notice longstanding patterns that continue to create distress in their lives and relationships. You may find yourself experiencing intense emotions, struggling with your sense of identity or self-worth, fearing rejection or abandonment, having difficulty trusting others, or repeating relationship patterns you wish you could change.

Together, we can explore these patterns with curiosity and compassion. Rather than asking, ā€œWhat’s wrong with me?ā€, therapy can help us understand ā€œHow did these patterns develop, what purpose have they served, and how can I create new ways of coping and connecting?ā€

Our work may explore emotional patterns, relationships, attachment experiences, identity, self-esteem, coping strategies, and the experiences that have shaped how you see yourself and others. Therapy can help you develop greater self-understanding, emotional awareness, healthier coping strategies, and more fulfilling relationships.Ā  Creating a sense of comfort and stability provides a foundation for this work.Ā Together, we can focus on emotional regulation, self-image, communication, boundaries, relationship patterns, and developing more effective ways of coping when things feel overwhelming.

Whether you have received a personality disorder diagnosis, identify with certain personality-related traits or patterns, or simply feel that longstanding emotional and relationship difficulties are getting in the way of the life you want, therapy can provide a space to better understand yourself and create meaningful change.
