Youth Therapy

Being a teenager comes with a lot of change. You’re figuring out who you are, navigating friendships and family relationships, managing school and expectations, and experiencing emotions that can sometimes feel difficult to make sense of.
Therapy can be a space to talk openly about what’s going on, without judgment. Together, we can explore what you’re experiencing, make sense of what feels difficult, and develop tools to help you feel more confident navigating life on your own terms.

Exploring who you are.
Finding your own way.
How do I know if therapy could help me?
You might consider therapy if things have been feeling harder to manage lately, you’re feeling overwhelmed, or you’re having a difficult time making sense of what you’re experiencing. Maybe something has changed at home or school, friendships have become complicated, or you’re trying to figure out who you are and where you fit in.
Therapy can give you a space to talk openly, without having to worry about having all the answers. Together, we can explore what’s going on, build on your strengths, and find ways to help you feel more confident navigating what comes next.
You don’t have to know exactly why you’re here or what you want to change.

Our work Together
Therapy is a space to talk about what’s happening in your life—from friendships and family to school, emotions, confidence, and identity.
You’ll have a say in what we focus on and how we work together. Sessions may include talking things through, learning practical tools, exploring patterns, or finding new ways to navigate challenging situations.
The goal is to help you better understand yourself, build confidence, and feel more equipped to handle what comes your way.
Therapy is shaped around you, including the cultural, family, relational, and life experiences that influence how you understand yourself, explore your identity, and navigate who you are becoming.
Supporting Youth While Respecting Their Privacy
Parents and caregivers can play an important role in supporting a young person’s well-being. At the same time, youth benefit from having a therapeutic space where they can speak openly and develop a sense of trust and autonomy.
I work thoughtfully with both youth and caregivers, while respecting the young person’s privacy and the boundaries of the therapeutic relationship.
At the beginning of therapy, confidentiality and its limits will be discussed with both the youth and their parent/caregiver, so that everyone understands what to expect and has an opportunity to feel safe, informed, and heard.

Sometimes, having a place to talk is a good place to start.
Reaching out for support can be an important step, whether a young person is experiencing a specific concern or simply finding things more difficult than usual.
